Colour Palette
9:33 PMI've already mentioned this far too many time, but I've been working on refining my wardrobe and in general want to dress and look more flatteringly.
I have mixed feelings on the idea of having a 'Season' (and matching colour palette) for your skin tone and features. On one hand it seems like an antiquated and rigid if used as a set of rules towards choosing your makeup/hair/clothing, but on the other hand certain colours really do pop on different people. So I thought I'd try out finding my season and creating a palette for myself based off of that.
However, if I use it at all it will be much more of a suggestion than a rule. :P
It took forever trying to define what 'season' I belong to, but after probably way too much time I think I fit pretty well in true/soft Summers. So, based on that and my own personal preferences, here is the colour pallet I picked out.
Main colours - the largest squares, these are colours that are most dominant in the style that I like for myself and would like to be the bulk of my wardrobe. They are mid-to-dark grey, burgundy, deep navy, and black. All of these colours matched suggested true/soft Summer palettes except for black, but I have to have that. :P
Mid colours - medium sized squares, these are here to support and balance out my main colours and accents, (even though looking back, maybe the deep green is an outlier here). They are white-to-light grey, beige-to-taupe, and deep emerald green. All these colours matched well in suggested true/soft Summer palettes.
Accent colours - the smallest squares, the 'leftovers' I guess. They wouldn't make up the bulk of my wardrobe but my wardrobe wouldn't feel like it's mine without them. Since these are the largest outliers of the group, it does include colours that are not suggested for my skin 'season' but I included anyways because they do match my own aesthetic ideal. However (surprisingly to me) only two of the five colours didn't match suggested palettes, the mustard and orange. Colours are light yellow, light blue-green, mustard, dusty purple, and orange.
